What is Astrology?

Horoscope is a tabular representation of the planets in the zodiac based on the time and the place of birth. Each individual has an exclusive horoscope and therefore possesses different traits and destiny.

A horoscope contains a birth chart (diagrammatic representation of placements of planets), details of the same, predictions about future including education, family, marriage, career, general events, up and downs of life, health, and an analysis of characteristics.

Indian Astrology:- Indian astrology, the oldest system of astrology in the world differs considerably from the western system. Indian astrology uses the actual constellations of stars as seen in the sky. This system gives a completely different chart as compared to the one used by western astrologers. The Indian astrology is based on the date, place and time of birth.

Indian Astrology also differs considerably from the Chinese horoscope, which is based on the year of birth and believes that the year of birth indicates a certain phase or aspect of sixty year circle of time. Therefore you may find yourself born in the year of dog, horse or rat or even a dragon. Hence, people who are born in a particular animal year share certain common traits just like people born in common zodiac do.

Western Astrology:-Western Astrology, practiced for thousands of years in Arabia and Europe, is based upon a system, which uses the path of the sun through the heavens, as seen from planet Earth. It looks at the constellations, which used to lie along this path, now called the Zodiac. Western astrology is geocentric, that is, it considers the Earth as the centre around which the Sun revolves.

According to western astrology, the horoscope is made on the basis of the time of the birth of a person. The sun sign represents the sign of the Zodiac that the Sun passed through at the time of the birth of a person. The Sun rules the essential personality, ego and willpower of a person. It represents the core of the potential and distinctiveness of an individual.

Chinese Astrology:- Chinese Astrology, based upon Ying-Yang and Five Elements, which are Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth, developed independently of the western tradition. There are twelve signs in Chinese astrology as well but are based on a different zodiacal structure. Most people tend to stereotype Chinese astrology as an over-simplified system of one personality type that applies to everyone in a given year. However, this astrology has a set of interpretative rules and divisions of topic in life equally complex as western or Indian astrology. One will note the cultural influence in Chinese astrology delineations that reflects the importance of family and ancestors.

Horary Astrology:- Horary astrology is based on a chart that deals with specific questions. To answer the questions, this ancient astrology doesn't require details like date, place and time of birth, it instead answers the queries based on the time they were put to the astrologer. On the basis of the questions put forward, a chart is formed. This chart shows the details like - what is going on at present, how could the future be affected, etc. It, therefore, provides solutions for dealing with critical situations.
